What Makes the HERO Generator Different?

Greenfield’s HERO generator adapts marine-grade, water-cooled technology used on yachts and ships, to fight corrosive air from the inside out. Here is what else makes the HERO generator so different from other generators on the market:

Unlike traditional air-cooled models, the HERO doesn’t pull corrosive salt air through its system. The water-cooled design cools both the engine and the exhaust, which dramatically reduces internal wear, so your generator lasts longer, especially near the ocean.

Sometimes homes along the waterfront and in neighborhoods are close together. HERO systems release heat through a water loop, not a hot exhaust blast, so they can be safely placed closer to structures than air-cooled units.

  • Use pool water, utility supply, or even a creek
  • Discharge via pipe return or cooling tower
  • Fits where others won’t

The HERO runs at a low 1800 RPM using a diesel engine making it much quieter than 3600 RPM gas generators. The HERO Generator is housed in a sleek, insulated white fiberglass enclosure that blends into high-end homes.

Locally Built Generators. Expertly Installed.

We designed the HERO system here on the North Carolina coast, and we assemble each unit locally. While most generators are made for mass production and mild environments, HERO units are designed for long-life performance even in salt air, tight spaces, or heavy-duty applications.

Greenfield Energy also installs, maintains, and repairs other top generator brands, but there’s no substitute for HERO.

We’re not just electricians. We’re machine people who understand power systems inside and out.

Our HERO units are custom-designed, locally assembled, and supported by a full-service install and repair team.

Greenfield Energy’s HERO system gave me peace of mind through two hurricanes. No issues, no corrosion, and no noise complaints from the neighbors.

Why Traditional Generators Fail at the Coast

Coastal homeowners are used to replacing air conditioning units every 5–7 years. The same applies to most air-cooled generators, even the ones that don’t run constantly. Weekly self-tests and daily exposure to salt air cause accelerated corrosion, especially on metal and radiator parts.

The water-cooled design of the HERO Generator utilizes a homeowners pool, irrigation, well, city, pond, or seawater to cool the engine and exhaust. The emergency run switch on the generator overrides controls to ensure operation in catastrophic events. A remote radiator option is also available if there is no water source. We offer professional installation locally for the HERO Generator.
